It's been awhile since i last saw him. I hope his doing fine. Trip is my three legged buddy that i've adopted away successfully with TK's help (bigbrownbearbear.blogspot.com) He should be about close to one year old now.

Trip was brought in by a taxi uncle, right paw was daggling, maggot infested with the bone jutting out, it was a road traffic accident. Trip was calm and quiet, After speaking to our doctor, put to sleep was one of the option other than amputation because by looking at the injuries, no puppy can go through that kind of treatment and pain. But the taxi driver insist to go ahead with the surgery.

My colleague and I cleaned/flushed the wounds, pluck the maggots one by one. To our surprise, Trip easily endure the pain, he never try to retaliate, or scream and struggle, but he did grumbles a little when the maggot gets a bit stubborn.

The amputation will be schedule till the maggots are out and the dog is stablized in terms of infections and strength.

During that period of time, he was named tripod by me.

After the surgery, My vet first took home to nurse and passed to me to bring home to nurse and get ready for adoption viewing. He is a smart boy, learn all the basic command in a flash! even "speak" as well. never soiled himself, always call for attention to go potty.

Before i send him for adoption, my vet requested not to name him as Tripod, because is like calling crippled, no legs hehhehehe. so He's named Trip by the adoptive parents because he trips and fall a lot! but he never gives up, he will quickly jump up and continue to have his fun chasing other dogs.

Met him again when he was 10 months old. he can run really fast. three legs is like no prob for him. Me and TK was laughing at the owner, saying that she didn't expect she has to run after Trip that much.

I missed Trip alot. I glad he has a uber loving family, and he maintained to be a good boy till now. Trip really inspired me a lot, and i'm glad i was once part of his life story. Whenever i'm in difficult situations (i'm still in right now) i will think of him and tell myself not to give up.
